The School seeks to appoint dynamic, focused, enthusiastic lecturers
committed to high quality teaching, learning and research to join the
humanities staff team for September 2007.The subject group comprising of;
Digital Publishing, Journalism, Film and Media Cultures is forward-looking
and committed to high quality teaching, learning and research.
You will have a commitment to curriculum development and have a student
centred approach. You will be expected to contribute towards the management
and administrative duties of the Programmes of Study and be involved in
other School activities.
Lecturer in Film

Film is a relatively new subject on the Humanities Programme and needs a
dynamic, focused individual to drive its development. You should be able to
demonstrate a keen awareness of current trends in film theory and history.
You should have a vision of the future direction of pedagogic practices.

Principal Lecturer in Media Cultures

Communication and Media is a relatively new subject area on the Humanities
Undergraduate Programme and needs a dynamic, ambitious and enthusiastic
individual to drive its development and to provide academic leadership to
the team. You will contribute to School and Faculty level strategic
planning and will have an excellent track record in curriculum development.
You should have a clear vision of the future direction of the subject and
be able to demonstrate a keen awareness of current trends in communications
theory, British media, media contexts, globalisation and advertising. An
interest in one of the following film, journalism or digital publishing
would be desirable.

Journalism is a highly successful subject within the Humanities

and/or political journalism. You should have an interest in curriculum

Digital Publishing is an established highly successful subject providing
practical computing skills for Humanities students. You should have
excellent ICT skills and a practical and theoretical understanding of web
design, Photoshop, Flash and in-design. A willingness to keep abreast of
new software developments is essential. You should have an interest in one
or more of the following film, media or journalism.
