DIGITAL WEDGWOOD PROJECT
Pre-qualification for Invitation to Tender for Software Supply
Interested companies are invited to submit pre-qualification documentation
for designing, developing and implementing Digital Wedgwood.
The pre-qualification document can be obtained on request from Intelligent

The closing date for submitting pre-qualification documents is Wednesday
12th April 2007.
Background
The Wedgwood Museum aims to be at the centre of learning for the heritage of
the ceramic industry, the Wedgwood family and cultural background of the
Potteries. Its collections are designated of national importance by the
Museums Libraries and Archives Council.
A new £10.2m museum – made possible by a £5.85m grant from HLF – is due to
open in spring 2008.
Digital Wedgwood
Digital Wedgwood is the Museum’s project to provide a range of e-learning
and other digital resources to make the collection more accessible to the
public:
* in the galleries (interactives, films, touch screens etc.)
* online (a new museum website)
* new e-learning programmes (available to pre-booked school and
family groups in the museum’s dedicated education suite)
Software Supplier
The Museum wishes to appoint a Software Supplier to develop the Digital
Wedgwood applications and the underlying content management system.
Tender Process
The appointment of a Digital Wedgwood Software Supplier will be by selective
competitive tendering and the short listing of suitable Suppliers will be
based on responses to the pre-qualification document.
Selection Criteria
Selection for inclusion on the final list of Digital Wedgwood Software
Suppliers will be on the basis of submissions and the following criteria:
* track record
* relevant experience
* proposed team and experience of key team members
* approach to project

The pre-qualification information requested should be submitted no later
than 12.00 noon on Wednesday 12th April 2007.

Tender Timetable
Following receipt of pre-qualification documents, the Museum will evaluate
the responses and create a short list of up to 6 suppliers.
The short listed suppliers will be invited to tender for the Digital
Wedgwood Software contract. It is expected that the invitation to tender
will be sent out on Monday 16th April 2007.
Supplier interviews will take place in mid May 2007 with the selection of
preferred supplier shortly afterwards. The Museum anticipates awarding the
Digital Wedgwood Software contract by May 31st 2007.
