No doubt the party line Tony. Editorial freedom is not the issue here.
The
parent company simply cannot have a foot in the arms industry camp where
we
know death, injury, subjugation and control are important
considerations,
also in the SM&T publishing camp where health and humanitarianism (not
to
mention "first do no harm") are guiding principles, and claim to be
untainted.

The Defence System & Equipment International exhibition is organised by
Reed Exhibitions, which like the Elsevier publishing company is owned by
Reed Elsevier PLC. There is no working connection between the two
companies. No member of Elsevier staff is involved with organising the
exhibition, and freedom of editorial judgement is a fundamental working
principle throughout Elsevier.
