Knowledge & Communications Manager
Band 7, full time, salary range from £33,260 to £42,054 including HCAS
Are you experienced in knowledge and Communications management? Now is the time to take advantage of a unique and exciting opportunity at the London Health Observatory (LHO). This innovative post is created following an internal team review at the LHO. The post holder plays a significant role in the planning and implementation of the knowledge management and communication strategy at the LHO.
The LHO is one of the nine regional Public Health Observatories across England. It was established under the umbrella of London's NHS* to bring together data and intelligence needed to support decision-makers and practitioners to improve health and tackle health inequalities across London. The LHO has a large and varied work programme of analysis and dissemination of health information and provision of training courses. It leads nationally on health inequalities, ethnicity and tobacco.
*LHO staff are employed by NHS London.
The postholder will have five key responsibilities, within which priorities will be agreed.
1) Manage the LHO's information and knowledge resources and provide knowledge support to the team.
2) Provide support in the development, implementation, evaluation and delivery of the LHO's communications strategy.
3) Lead on the product and publication management at the LHO.
4) Organise Health Intelligence Network meetings and other project related meetings/events at the LHO.
5) Work with key partners and stakeholder groups to promote and improve the work at the LHO.
The role is key to ensuring effective knowledge management and communications of the organisation and requires initiative, attention to detail and the ability to work with minimum supervision to deadlines. A flexible approach is needed to respond to the changing demands of the organisation. Excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills are essential to the success of this role. Relevant training opportunities and mentorship will also be provided.
