This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team developing web-based geographical information systems to inform citizens and partners.
The post, within the Research & Consultation Service will be to develop dynamic, public-access websites to disseminate information to the public; to promote citizen involvement in local governance and to provide agencies with improved tools to inform evidence-based planning.
We are looking for individuals with a combination of statistical / social research skills together with skills in web programming, databases and Geographical Information Systems. The work will build on Bradford's existing leading-edge development of Internet information systems and help the Council and Local Strategic partner to deliver our '2020 Vision' for the sustainable social, economic and environmental development of Bradford District.
Essential experience will include 2 years experience of designing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or 2 years experience of statistical databases and their analysis, Undertaking and reporting research, liaison with a variety of organisations and proficiency in a range of software used in an office environment: (word-processing, spreadsheet, email, Internet)).
The successful candidate will be qualified to Honours degree level or equivalent (NVQ Level 4 with 5 years experience).
