Dear Dr Renhorn,

As far I understand, this task will have 3 aspects to handle which are:
- legal ans social apects related to privacy connected to cybersurveillance
issues (EU and national directives and laws)
- national laws for the medical specificities
- all the upcoming technologicals issues related to nano, RFID, etc...
it is all in a loop, but each aspects has to be considered separately in
order to tackle the right angle enabling the research with the respect of
the person and the person's dignity as human being, the law and the national
specific bodies like national data protection commission.

This is something we can do, but I would like to know the countries with
which you plan to work as there are some countries in which we do not have
previous experience. Icould not see from the abstract who the partners are
and for which countries you would like to have this WP 11 to work.

We have started to work on those social and legal aspect for the LIAISON
project (FP6 - IP 511766. In the coming month we will open a blog with our
major findings related to the workplace.

Best regards,

Nicole Turbé-Suetens

Objet : ethics wp in e-health project

Dear everyone,

at Umea University Hospital we are preparing a proposal for the first ICT
call for porposals, deadline 8 May. The subject is ICT-2007.5.1: Personal
Health Systems for Monitoring and Point-of-Care diagnostics; the project is
about developing anf using sensors (biosensors as well as other types) to
monitor the health of dementia patients in their homes.

The consortium consists of health care and home care providers, technology
providers and research organisations. We would like to att a work package on
ethics associated with monitoring, transfer, storage and display of
physiological data. Therefore, we are searching for a partner competent in
ethical issues in this area.

Attached is a short abstract of the project. If you are interested in
participating, please contact me as soon as possible.
