Lecturer in Human Geography
Department of Geography, Durham University
The Geography Department seeks to appoint a three year fixed-term lecturer
in Human Geography from 1st September 2007 or as soon as possible
thereafter. Applications are welcome from individuals whose teaching and
research interests are in political geography and/or social and spatial
theory, including one or more of: Research into key thinkers and/or key
theoretical approaches in social and spatial theory; The relation between
philosophical conceptions of 'space' or 'place' and their political
counterparts; Political research into contemporary territorial issues, the
idea of territorial integrity and the territorial implications of the war
on terror; The history of thought at the interface between Geography and
Politics and/or Geography and Poststructuralism.
Salary: 26,666 per annum
