Subject: New MSc Student Assessment: your opinion needed.
The WriteNow CETL is developing a new MSc in Student Assessment. Details
about the course are contained below.
Please can you assist the course team by completing a short
questionnaire?
The survey has been created by the course team to gauge potential
interest
across the sector. The information gathered here will be used to inform
course design as well as the development of relevant and meaningful
course
content.
The survey is accessible at
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=526213332171
Some background about this new MSc Student Assessment (This is also
contained with the questionnaire).
The MSc Student Assessment is a new online, distance learning course
developed by the Write Now Centre for Excellence in Teaching and
Learning (CETL), a collaboration between London Metropolitan, Liverpool
Hope and Aston Universities. The course will run for the first time in
September 2007.
The MSc is designed for those working in Higher Education who would like
to explore the theory and application of assessment in depth with
colleagues across the sector. Learning will be work-based and
problem-based and will focus on enabling participants to develop their
own assessment practice in the context of their subject specialism
and/or areas of professional responsibility.
The course is also strongly research oriented and has been designed to
enable participants to pursue and publish their own pedagogical research
into assessment. Participants will be invited to present their research
at established conferences hosted alternately in London and Liverpool,
and there will be opportunities for publishing built into the structure
of the course.
Thank you
