The thin e-Portfolio model is explicitly intended to integrate dynamically generated views of distributed learner data within a PLE. The FP7 Tessi bid is intended to provide a pervasive trusted infrastructure to support the implementation of the eP Reference Model re-factored for regional partnerships. It would be good if I was able to say something about this work to a wider JISC community as I have for European colleagues (December would have been fine but we're now close to the bid deadline). However there will be some infrastructure use cases drilling into existing scenarios available soon. Good to know how to represent this: is Balbir ready to do something on BPMN?

Hi Lisa

Well done on pulling this together. See attached for some additions and comments. I think there are some quite big themes not addressed which I've added for discussion and can be summed up as

*	Ownership and Control
*	e-Portfolio Architectures
*	Multifunctional and Modular e-Portfolio Systems (links to PLE)

There is also the issue that it is very difficult to develop effective practices based on an immature technology base. So both practices and the supporting technology have to be co-developed together, by domain experts, practitioners and users working with developers through iterative prototyping.

Cheers

Bill

	Dear all,

	Last year I contacted the list regarding your thoughts on the priority areas for future e-portfolio work. I came to speak at the last SIG meeting around the resulting challenges identified through the consultation, and for those not at the meeting I've attached the identified key challenges here, with some text providing an overview of our work in the area. I would welcome any further comments or feedback on them.

	Work has already started in identifying appropriate approaches to take this work forwards, in collaboration with partners and in line with our planned areas of activity. I'll keep the list informed regarding progress, but I'd like to see the consultation with the community as ongoing process so please do continue to feed back your ideas and thoughts on where the priorities lie.

	Thanks to all who have already contributed and helped to shape our thinking in this area.

	Best wishes,

	Lisa
