Dear all,
I wonder if anyone responsible for curating/ producing archaeological
archives/ photographic material can help?
We currently label our contact prints on the reverse in pencil, accompanied
with a cross referenced list, according to national and regional guidelines
for the preparation of archaeological archives. However, this is proving to
be impractical in differentiating between similar shots, as the images
often do not appear in a logical sequence (i.e. from left to right).
For practical reasons it would be useful to label each image with an
assigned number on the front of the sheet. Does anyone know of any
suppliers of white archival pens?
Another possible alternative may be to label the sleeve in which the sheet
is placed.
Or can anyone suggest another solution?
I would be interested to know how other creators of archaeological archives
deal with this problem.
Many thanks,
Karen
