Looking at the RPM lists I can see:
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/mirror.centos.org/4.4/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS/gsl-1.5-2.rhel4.i386.rpm
and
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/mirror.centos.org/4.4/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS/gsl-devel-1.5-2.rhel4.i386.rpm
Same really as the one's I'm using. If your yum is setup correctly you
should be able to do:
yum install gsl gsl-devel
but if that's a 64bit machine you'll need the 32bit version as well
(those above). For that you'd probably say:
yum install gsl-1.5-2.rhel4.i386
