Planning and managing staff inductions - New for 2007

This course is aimed at all staff involved in the induction process from those who design and plan the programme to those who are involved in delivering it.
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
1. Explain the importance of a structured induction programme which makes clear the role of the organisation, the department and the individual.
2. Design an effective induction programme which covers the key issues for the individual’s first day, weeks and months.
3. Plan a training session suitable to instruct an individual in a specific task within the programme which identifies who should carry out the training, how it will be delivered and how the effectiveness of the training will be evaluated.
4. Explain the importance of monitoring performance and giving feedback as part of the induction process.
About the trainer:
Deborah Dalley has been working as a freelance consultant for over 15 years, primarily within the public sector. Her client organisations range over a number of universities, colleges, libraries, NHS trusts, magistrates` courts and police forces. Deborah has a keen interest in many areas of behavioural training including interpersonal skill development, assertiveness, emotional intelligence and management training. She believes that people learn more effectively if they are involved in the process and her sessions are therefore highly participative and enjoyable!
