I was very keen to see the Ebsco forum act as a proper mailing list for
the full exchange of information - i.e. you would get alerted when new
posts were posted - just like this list. Ebsco has not managed to get
that functionality working yet.
Ebsco write to me occasionally saying they are still working on it but
my role changed and I don't have much day to day contact now.
I think if you suggested it to them, they would respond positively.
I always argued it would be very useful to have a confidential email
list so when we spot a problem, say with EJS, we'd all know about it
straight away. Let's face it, the people who find out about changes and
problems with e-journals first are all our separate acquisitions /
e-resources departments. An exchange of information would save a lot of
time (but would not always be appropriate on say lis-e-journals because
it might be very specific to Ebsco functionality or procedures).

Hi Janet - is there already something like you have in mind in existence
already? I have an Ebsco-allocated login for:
http://www.ebscoforum.co.uk/ but must admit I have never contributed.?

Would there be any interest in forming an Ebsco user group? I have
mentioned this to Ebsco a few times. If anyone is interested, please
email me off-list.
Thanks
