Hi,
to be fair despite my kicking and screaming it is not the middleware
that changes directory. It is pbs_mom itself.
pbs_mom executes the prologue as root before any job. It can be used to
setup the "permanent" part of the user job environment like temporary
directories or it can be used to print useful information in the job
output; it cannot be used for volatile things like changing directories
or setting environment variables that should be inherited by the user
job. I tried this without any middleware in the middle. I'm still
unhappy with the change but I see no other way to implement it avoiding
the middleware.
cheers
