Post Doctoral Position in Adaptive Distributed Information Retrieval
The Faculty of Informatics of the University of Lugano (USI) in
Switzerland has recently been awarded research funding from SNF
(Swiss National Science Foundation) to expand its research in
Distributed Information Retrieval by exploring issues of
personalisation and user adaptation and it is looking for a highly
motivated post-doctoral research fellow to join the research group
lead by Prof. Fabio Crestani.
The post is available full time for 12 months or part time for up to
24 months, the salary is 80,000 CHF (approx £34,000) and the location
is beautiful. The post is likely to be extended for an additional 12
full time months, with additional funding from SNF.
Applicants must have completed or be about to complete a PhD in
Computer Science and/or closely related areas (e.g. Mathematics,
Statistics or Engineering with strong emphasis on Computer Science)
and have excellent skills in both written and spoken English, as the
working language of the Faculty is English.
