London First, in conjunction with Birkbeck College, is delighted to
invite you to a debate addressing the importance of London to the UK
economy. The debate, chaired by *Robert Webb QC*, will take the form of
a courtroom-style disputation and will centre on the case for
investment in London versus the regions, with the audience playing the
part of the jury. Representing the regions will be *Lord Daniel Brennan
QC*. Lord Brennan will call *Marianne Neville-Rolfe* (former Director
of the Government Office for the North West and director of the South
East Development Agency) and *Jim Hancock* (former Presenter of the BBC
Politics Show, North West edition) as witnesses. Representing London
will be *Desmond Browne QC*. The witnesses for London will be *Bridget
Rosewell* (Chief Economist for the Greater London Authority), and
*Steve Norris* (Chairman of Jarvis PLC).
