PhD STUDENTSHIPS IN GEOGRAPHY AT DURHAM UNIVERSITY
The Department of Geography at Durham is one of the top rated Departments
of Geography in the United Kingdom. In the past three Research Assessment
Exercises we have been awarded the top grade, being one only four
departments to be granted a 6*. This means our research has been
independently judged to have an excellent international reputation. The
quality of our teaching has been rated as excellent by external Quality
Assessment Audit.
We welcome applications for postgraduate study in any of our areas of
research expertise. Research topics for 2007 can be found at:
http://www.dur.ac.uk/geography/postgrad/study_in_geog/topics/
A variety of funding opportunities are available, including 4 ESRC quota
awards (1+3 or +3) and 1 NERC award. Applications received by Monday 19
February 2007 will be considered for the Durham Doctoral Fellowship scheme,
and for ESRC or NERC studentships. Applications received after this date
may still be eligible for ESRC or NERC awards.
