I love this poem. It is very typical of the ancient texts and covers all the
truths. For me it is a very spiritual poem. I realise modern poets don't
write like this anymore. I am not into sonnets myself but most good writers
are. It is a lovely poem. bw sally j

>Psalm 1
>
>Content is he who follows not the words
>of wicked men, nor stands with sinful men,
>nor sits with men of scorn; instead delights
>and ponders all the Lord's law night and day.
>This man is like a tree with roots beside
>the flowing water, yielding fruit in time,
>and never shall its leaves go dry and drop.
>In all the work he does this man shall thrive.
>
>Not so, the wicked, no! Like winnowed chaff
>they will be driven far away by wind;
>in judgment, blowing down the wicked, they
>will not remain upright with all the just.
>The Lord will guard the path of all the just;
>the path of wicked men will lead to doom.
