My best bet for the cause of this problem is that the path in MATLAB has
not been set. Things work fine when you run SPM from the directory
containing the spm5 code, but when the directory is changed (to the one
for writing the results to), then MATLAB can no longer find the various
SPM functions (such as spm_select.m or spm_figure.m).
For more information, type either of the following in MATLAB:
help editpath
help path
