I vaguely remember seeing something similar when installing spm5 for
someone on a windows machine...
When I remember well you should not untar using WinZip, it does not
handle the unzipping of some binaries from tarballs well. Even better
you do not use
windows at all ;-)
When you are unlucky enough to be stuck with windows, maybe winrar or the
like does a better job? Perhaps google knows the answer.
Or untar on linux and move the untarred archive back to your PC.
