yep SPM5 doesn't do that anymore

well two things .. 1. to help SPM5, it's better to work in matlab
without java machine (run matlab -nojvm)
2. If I remember well this error occurs because of a strange
uppercase/lowercase stuff that appears after unzip/untar ..
It seems that you MIP.mat file doesn't load .. have a look at your SPM
folder and make sure you have a MIP.mat in uppercase (or redownload the
file)
