Advance apologies for "daft" question but although this sounds really basic
and trivial it is important ( well to me). I am involved in looking for
sites to build a new archive building. Approx 8-10,000 sq metres. Am of
course aware of BS 5454. Ground has been offered but although free, lacks
services. Questions arise, is a free offer of land withour services a
better bet then buying land with. So if one was to list three key items to
look for in land what would they be. In my mind the easy ones would be
drainage and subsidence but what about energy use and demands? Access of
course and costs of this need to be addressed. One of hardest things is
working out whether ground can take weight.
Any advice on subject most welcome either on or off list, direct to me or
point me in direction where i might find further advice
Many thanks for help
