Hi, I am assessing the alternatives for managing and storing email
accurately in compliance with legislation.
At the moment we are deploying an EDRM solution and I am analysing benefits
of managing and storing the emails using this solution or integrating with
the email archiving KVS Vault.
I am not that convinced of the requirement of the email archiving solution
having the EDRM as I consider all records (including emails) should be
managed within their business context and retention should be managed
according the content instead of the dates.
I know that since 2005 many public organisations implemented email
archiving solutions to reduce email quotas, reduce storage and ensure
compliance. However, at that time not many of them have deployed an EDRM
solution. I would like to know your experiences and practice after an email
archiving implementation and if it changed after an EDRM roll out (if any).
Any thoughts will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
