If you are as dismayed as I am by the imminent closure of the UK's most
unique wildlife education centre - WildWalk @ Bristol - then please read
on and pledge your support to a campaign to save it by signing an online
petition.
WildWalk is one of the three attractions in Bristol's Harbourside science
complex, At-Bristol. Since opening in 2000 it has become a hub for all
sorts of national and international wildlife education events and
conferences, including teaching hundreds of thousands of children and
families about nature and hosting the international Wildscreen Festival.
In light of the environmental pressures facing the world around us, and
the previous lack of education about how to combat these problems,
WildWalk's closure is a slap in the face for conservation educators.
The science and natural history communication community, as well all of
Bristol's visitors, will lose a valuable and unique resource if this
centre is forced to close at the end of March.
Please go to the following website to find out more about the campaign to
save WildWalk, and sign the online petition there to add your support.
