Wikipedia is funny. Since I have to assign research papers, I have to deal
with it, and I tell students that if they use it as a source, they have to
have a backup source. But it's surprisingly accurate. I read an account by a
history professor who had deliberately inserted seven errors into an entry,
some of them obscure. He wanted to see how long it would take for them to be
corrected -- he has predicted several weeks. They were all corrected by the
end of the afternoon.
