The dreaded 'Mal de Mare' has wiped out many a fighting force. My dad had
it for his first 6 months at sea but it eventually passed. It would be great
to hear more such stories from you guys who actually served, but alas we
take the jiscmail well off topic again. If you want to see real inter force
competition go online and watch any of the USA Army and Navy football games.
Great fun.

Anita,
lololol. The funniest "battle" I had in my time, was when nearly 99% of the
Paras who sailed on HMS Intrepid (my ship) fell foul of the dreaded
seasickness when we took them to the Falklands in 1982. Real hardened (and
they are) Paras cursed by the sea and nowhere to escape. But I put my life
in their hands shoreside (which is their domain) when needed.
just banter..and they gave us sailors just as hard a time, until the
professionalism takes over, when it's needed.
I note there are none of our sideways walking friends on here.......???
lololol. For those that don't know, I'm referring to the RAF and their
nickname is a shelled creature often found in rockpools, 4 letters, when
cooked, found in tins, beginning with the letter c.
Just banter. No war. we don't deliberately fight each other....just
banter...
James

HOORAH TO YOU JAMES!!!
My other half being an ex "1 Para" sgt has ben rather interested in this
"battle" ....always the way that the people who've had the least "ground
level" experience in any given situation always claim to know the
most!!...Hay Ho!!
