Hi
We also monitor our absence and whilst our percentage of absence is high at
the moment it is reflective of the current upheaval within the business (up
for sale March last year, new owner and now closure by December this year).
Our absence is split into short (less than 2 weeks)and long term, (over 2
weeks). Generally our collective absence figures run under 3% (for the past
six years).
Currently we are running as below

This was us up until middle of our last financial year (until new
management financial year ran from August to July)
(See attached file: Weekly Site Absence F06.doc)
Hope this helps

I am hoping that someone will be able to help me with benchmarking part of
our absence stats.
I have been monitoring the number of employees who have been absent due to
illness at least once since the start of our financial year. For one of my
factories this has meant that only 42% of staff have not had any sickness
absence since 17/09/06. Does anyone else monitor this and if so would you
mind sharing your stats with me?
Cheers
John
