Interesting. I suppose it depends on the doctor or the nurse and the
service being offered. I think we should be equally able to run a service,
should being the operative word. As for running an OH business, I would
imagine that most doctors would have an advantage as most OHP's have come
from GP practice and what it takes to run them. I can hear all the nurses
screaming now, calm down, I run my own business and I am a nurse. Both
parties are obviously biased though I can vouch that both are in my
experience better than a safety led service. At least we have an
understanding of each others professional requisites.

May i politely suggest this forum is slightly biased as mainly nurses on it.
If you want the answer doctor led or a list of reasons why doctors can run
the service better - put it on ALAMA or ANHOPS websites.
Funnily enough my personal opinion is it should be DOCTOR led.....
but then i'm a doctor!
