I do not agree with your HR manager. Medical confidentiality is totally
different and I would definately want my clerical staff to sign a specific
form. If all confidentiality is the same why do some of us have to sign the
Official Secrets Act (as we do on my site. Would your HR manager allow you
to see his/her confidential HR records? I think not.

Hi,
After seeing some of the forms used for clerical staff in OH, I felt
that it maybe necessary to use similar one across my sites. When trying
to implement this, I was informed by the HR manager that the standard
confidentiality aspects covered in the terms and conditions of
employment would suffice. I am not sure that I agree as when read, it
clearly relates to business confidentiality. HR see that employees are
part of the business and therefore such a clause would cover any
confidential information (including medical) about them. I would
appreciate your views on this.
