Hello
can I ask if anyone has in place a Policy/Procedure whereby they can ask a
member of staff to produce GP certification on the first day of absence?
If an individual has excessive absence, rather than asking for self-
certification in future they are asked to provide a GP certificate, and
reviewed after a set period of time, for example 3-6 months. I am aware
that the GP may charge for such certification.
The current Policy supports this but recently a member of staff has taken
umbridge at this and being charged and stated that this is not a
legitimate practice and that the GP states this also, even though they
have still charged for the certificate. If it is not legal can the GP
still charge? Also if it is not legal what else can we implement to try
and remove 'oscillation de plumbage'?
I would look in your book Greta but it's at home, and obviously I'm not at
present!
Any advice, guidance or ideas welcome
regards
Glenn
