I would be very interested too, if people will be willing to share.

Subject: using translations in qualitative research
We've conducted semi-structured interviews with research participants to
find out their experience of consent processes for medical research. The
interviews were conducted with an interpreter - or in some cases by the
interpreter himself (so as to remove the pauses for translation during
interviews). The interviews were then translated into English before
transcription. I'd be very grateful for listmembers advice about good
academic references for issues arising with analysing translated
interviews (and/or about a third party translator acting as interviewier)
as the material I have all seems to assume that interviews will be
conducted in English.
Thanks in advance
Susan Bull
