I totally support Alan in this!!!
Quite apart from the big brother aspects (and tax grabbing aspects) how are
the less well off among us going to be able to afford to visit mining
history (and archaeology sites) (travelling to Geevor, Bill?), record
repositories and the like if the government is allowed to sneak through
things like this? Not to mention the fact that it's irrelevant to
environmental and congestion concerns... and this is not party politcal
either - I can well imagine 'politicians' from any part of the spectrum
latching on to this concept. Probably pressure from Europe too...This is
democracy in action and any form of communication possible should be
utilised to inform 'the people'! There are other petitions to sign up to as
well, like that against the new entertainment licences, but I guess they are
not applicable to the mining history list so I won't mention them.
