I would also like to follow the responses Alison. This is a issue
affecting midwifery in many parts of the world at present.

Hi Alison
Great to offer to collate - I would be very interested to follow the
details of this dixcussion. I'm not in the uK but feel equally
vulnerable to the whims of government funding and how universities react
to these in terms of health professional programs - and more
specifically midwifery.

Apologies for using the list to ask this parochial question, but not
being a midwife, it's the only avenue I have.
In many universities in England, perhaps also in other parts of the UK,
the cuts in education budgets have created major financial deficits on
schools of nursing and midwifery. I would like to know to what extent
senior management in these universities have announced and/ or
implemented strategies for dealing with this. Replies by 1pm today would
be particularly useful, but if you see this later, it would still be
useful to hear from you.
Can I suggest that in order to avoid boring our international
colleagues, people reply to me off-list. I will then collate the
responses and send one reply to this list.
