Why do people have personal blogs? They seem to me to be much the same as
circular letters people send out at Christmas (deservedly lampooned by Simon
Hoggart in the Guardian), but on a grander scale - at least the letters are
sent to people who know, or once knew, the sender.

Still have old version for personal blog http://grandy.blogspot.com but just
set one up for my London Marathon blog (never thought I'd get an excuse to
encourage my sponsorship blog via LIS-Medical - but any legit excuse!!!)
http://andymarathon07.blogspot.com Both look the same in layout but new
version is dead easy to set up. My donation link was really easy to set up
and involved no scripting knowledge.

Those of you who are HLISD administrators can set up a library blog through
that way. It does then show up as a link in My Home Library on the My
Library page on the NLH page www.library.nhs.uk (sign in via Athens and then
click the My Library tab). That is if your institution is an NHS institution
within NHS England.

We are planning to set up a blog as part of our current awareness service.

options and displays a blank page if a post moves into the archive instead
of displaying the most recent post.
 
 <file://www.blogger.com> www.blogger.com - allows a lot of customisation
but won't display on some older PCs. 
 <file://www.blog.co.uk> www.blog.co.uk - has too many adverts and parts of
the page are blocked by the Trust's firewall. 
 
Does anyone use any other blog providers that allows customisation and which
works with all PCs and not just the newest ones?
