Dear Lesley, Peter, and all,
I would like to follow up on your enquiries and OUP's message on Monday about access to Contemporary Economic Policy and Economic Inquiry.
Both of these journals have moved their publishing arrangements to Blackwell Publishing for 2007. We received the backfile content for the years 2000 to 2006 from OUP at the end of December and are working at converting the files to the correct format for Blackwell Synergy as quickly as possible. We expect these files will be ready to be posted on Synergy and made accessible to all 2007 subscribers to the journals before the end of this month. In the meantime, the WEAI have agreed that OUP can reinstate the content for the years 2000 to 2006 on their journals platform until March 31st 2007. It will be back on Highwire later today. Discussions are still underway between the WEAI and both publishers regarding access rights to the pre-2000 content.
We deeply regret the lost access that has occurred during the transfer of these journals between publishers. Both Blackwell and OUP are participating in UKSG's TRANSFER Working Group which we hope will provide both us and the societies we work with an agreed Code of Practice that will help to resolve these issues for future journal transfers much earlier. We do apologise for the interrupted access caused to you and can assure you we are working to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
Please contact me directly if you have any further enquiries.
Best wishes,
Emily
