The GPS is probably more important than typetalk because text is fine via
mobiles for most calls. I communicate with my kids on messenger and webcam.
Typetalk fabulous for ringing those nasty company answerphones that give
options and I can never make out the options. But I can live without it. I
can usually find another human to make a call for me.
Having an integral keyboard is useful because I do touch type quickly.
Being able to remove the GPS from the car is important so having it on a
pocket PC is better than a Tom Tom and I assume you can get something to put
the PC in on the dashboard.
I just want to cut down on the amount of electronic equipment I cart around
and the number of chargers!
I have just been given a Bellman Alerter which would wake me if the
doorbell/telephone/smoke alarm goes off at night, shame I can't use that to
send texts, take photos and make tea!

Pocket PCs such as the one below will do everything you want (get one with a
built in or attached GPS unit, and make sure it has a phone in it - some
have
phones, some don't). You may get it cheaper by taking on a new mobile
contract.
But it seems that your key app is Talk Type. I can't find anything about
using
this on a Pocket PC - but then, I can't find anything about using it on a
Nokia
9210i either. I owned a Nokia 9110 a long while ago, and it was an excellent
phone, although somewhat a brick. The 9210i has a keyboard that will be
better
to type with than any Pocket PC phone. I can't find any software on a quick
search that will allow the 9210i to be used as a GPS unit, either.
