I think you have picked up on some good confusing areas.
Expiry dates on solid dosage forms is same ie.end of the month
indicated.
However this is only true for medicines in their original packs and once
they are out of packs different rules apply e.g. look at warning on
Spiriva capsules.
Liquids are even more difficult, and some have to be used within so many
days of reconstituting or opening to the air.

No, they don't all say Expires end 07/2008. Not sure why as that would
be
the easiest option. Presumably would take some sort of manufacturer
retooling
to emboss/print differently? Some products do have an exact expiry date
on the
packet - 15/07/08, or whatever. But then you get the situation where
the
product is okay to take on the 15/07 and then magically loses all its
activity
on the 16/07.
It's even worse with non-injectables. Is the date on an oral dosage
form the
date for the pharmacist to dispense it by, or for the patient to
start/finish taking by?

No, what I meant was that it expires in July and July starts on the
first so
then must expire on the first?
Simply making the point that it is confusing. Or do they all say
'Expires
End 07/2008'. I don't think they do - there is no standard AFAIK.
Also no standard for Batch Numbers.
