Usual utter bollox.
They must send you proper clinical details. Everyone else uses fax.
Tell them to stop being stupid

Subject: Data Protection Act question.
Our OOH service has recently started blanking out the names/details on faxes
they are sending to other bases - "For data protection reasons".
They end up telling the entire sheet over the phone, with increased chance
of screwup.
Have also had a base refuse to give any details of an outcome, except the
read code [cough].
- worrying, esp as poor access to previous calls was implicated in that
death in London last year [spoke to, or seen by 8 docs]
Anyone come across this? This must be an early April Fool, shurely. Should
we blank out patients' details or reason for referral to hospital, and just
send a clean A4 sheet?
James
