I disagree on this one - it doesn't say "seen" it says "examined". A
telephone consultation is a new way of examining patients, so use of Med3s
in this situation should move with the times. I'm not talking about issuing
Med3s to anyone over the phone, even when they've never been "seen" at all,
but when you have a patient who is well known to the GP i.e. you recognise
their voice and are happy it's them and particularly when it's a review, I
would argue that a telephone consultation is an "examination" in this
context.
We're using telephone consultations more and more - if they are so dodgy
then maybe we shouldn't be.
