Internship opportunity
UNHCR is considering the establishment of a research and policy analysis project
on 'remote management and cross-border operations'. The purpose of the project
would be to examine and draw lessons from the experience of UNHCR and other
humanitarian organizations in implementing programmes in insecure areas where
international staff members are unable to work. The case studies would include
Iraq, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone and Somalia.
The internship opportunity associated with this project is unpaid and located at
UNHCR's Geneva headquarters. The starting date and length of the internship are
subject to negotiation.
Candidates should have proven research, drafting and interviewing skills and an
understanding of humanitarian issues. Field experience would be an advantage.
