ECSR and TransEurope Joint Conference
“GLOBALIZATION, SOCIAL INEQUALITY AND THE LIFE COURSE”,
‘The Castle’ (Het Kasteel) Conference Center, Groningen, September 1-2, 2007
The European Consortium for Social Research (ECSR) and the European Science Foundation (ESF) TransEurope Research Network will be joining forces in 2007 to host a two-day conference to be held in Groningen, the Netherlands, on September 01 and 02, 2007.
CONFERENCE THEME
The aim of the conference, entitled Globalization, Social Inequality and the Life Course, is to bring together empirical researchers working in the area of social inequality and the life course and its relation to macro-level changes such as globalization, Europeanization and transnationalization. The conference does not limit itself to one topic, and welcomes presentations on all relevant areas of sociological research, such as the labor market, work and employment, organizations, education, family sociology and social stratification in general. The conference invites all kinds of papers that describe recent changes in social inequalities in modern societies, compare generations or countries, develop explanatory models to understand these developments in various welfare contexts or design measures to capture the processes of globalization, transnationalization or Europeanization.

CONFERENCE FEES
Fees for participants who are members of an ECSR institution: 150 Euros
Fees for participants who are not members of an ECSR institution: 200 Euros
Students: 75 Euros
Conference Dinner: 30 Euros (per person)
The above fees include coffee breaks and lunches on both days.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
All abstracts have to be sent no later than 15 May 2007 to the Local Conference Organizers using the electronic abstract submission form on the conference webpage.
