Apologies cross-postings. Terrell
>This is to inform you about the existence of a new large-scale project. I would be pleased if you could also forward to the ECPR-theory group, the following information about the Eurosphere webportal, where we present Eurosphere's research programme (http://www.eurosphere.uib.no/TEST_NEW/Home_v2.php).
>
>Just to give the list members an idea about what Eurosphere is about:
>
>***********************************
>EUROSPHERE, an integrated project funded by the European Union's 6th Framework Programme, will have a Kick off Conference on the 14th of February.
>
>The overall objective of EUROSPHERE is to develop innovative perspectives on public sphere and citizenship, and to identify the factors which facilitate or hinder the articulation of a European public sphere. The research plan comprises theory and method development, creation of new data collection and analysis tools, synchronized data collection and analysis activities in 16 European countries, and creation of a Eurosphere Knowledge Base, which we envisage will be open to public. The project will last five years, starting on 1 February 2007. 17 European universities are collaborating, and approximately 150 researchers will be participating in Eurosphere's different parts and phases.
>
>In addition to extensive research activities, we will have 3 international conferences, 4 PhD courses, 2 European policy forums, and hopefully also a significant amount of publications. I would like to invite the members of the ECPR-theory group to contact me, if they are interested in participating in our future activities (a short list of activities can be found in the above-given webportal).

>Thanks, and best regards.
