Dear all,
We are currently having difficulty with providing adjustable chairs
for our students.
We have managed to get the University to buy some, but we are having
less success in getting them into the right room at the right time. We
have various ad-hoc arrangements but still the chairs seem to go
walkabouts, and nobody in particular has responsibility for them. In
addition, we sometimes have to take chairs around from one building to
another, giving more potential for the chairs to disappear. This is
proving a particular difficulty for evening lectures, when neither our
department nor the building services team are in, and security (a
security guard is on duty in every building) are a private firm and it
seems that we can't ask them to help out.
I had lecturers taking chairs to lectures and then back to their
offices afterwards, but one hasn't been seen since last term.
What do others do in this situation? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Rosie
