Wythenshawe Forever! is a climate change awareness project taking place
in Wythenshawe, south Manchester between April and June 2007.
Wythenshawe Forever! will feature a series of projects leading up to a
‘Party Without Pollution’ event. The party will be a free outdoor
entertainment event run by local residents and community groups. It will
be a unique event in that its development will be low carbon. This is
because the energy required to power it will be generated or saved by
the actions of local people and their projects, using suitable
small-scale, low-carbon, alternative-energy production and reduction
methods.
The event and workshops will be centred around a specially built new
temporary sculptural meeting space, called the PowerStation. It will be
fabricated from shipping containers and sited in a local green space.
