A quick reminder that the School of History, Philosophy, Religion and
Classics will be hosting the inaugural Annual Meeting of Postgraduate
students in Hellenic Or Roman Antiquities (AMPHORA), Friday 13th July-
Saturday 14th July.
Please be aware that the early registration fee of $65 ends March 1st,

CALL FOR PAPERS: Ancient Life, Ancient Lives
Abstract submissions are invited for consideration by the convenors of the
inaugural Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Hellenic Or Roman Antiquities
(AMPHORA) conference, hosted by the School of History, Philosophy,
Religion and Classics at the University of Queensland, Australia. We hope
that this will be the first of an annual conference within Australia and
New Zealand, at which postgraduates can present their current research in
a friendly and receptive environment.
The theme for this conference is ‘Ancient Life, Ancient Lives’, which may
be broadly interpreted, and research papers in, but not limited to, the
following areas are welcome: Ancient Greek and/or Roman history,
literature, society, philosophy, religion, art, archaeology and culture.
Abstract submissions: Please submit an abstract up to 250 words, with
three keywords referring to your paper’s topic and a very brief biography,
to the AMPHORA Conference committee, [log in to unmask] Deadline Friday
30th March, 2007.
Presentations: 20 min papers followed by 10 min discussion time at the end
of each session.
Conference events: Official reception evening of Thursday 12th; Conference
sessions Friday 13th- Saturday 14th July; optional conference dinner
Saturday evening.
Registration: Early registration fee is $AU 65 and ends March 1st, 2007.
Undergraduate registration fee is $AU 65; Standard registration fee is $AU
