If you want to make things simpler for the instructors by having the RSS
option in the content dropdown,
you need to install a Buidling Block.
We use one written by Matt Hartman from the University of Cincinnati and
have found
it to work very well.
I have this link but it may be out of date.
Probably best to contact Matt in the first instance

Hi Jo,
Yes, it's quite easy. You just have to use an application (some websites
do
it for free eg. http://www.rss-to-javascript.com/p/138.html ) to
converrt
the XML of any feed to Javascript. the resulting script can then be
pasted
into the Text box of your Bb item.
Gerard.

Subject: RSS in Courses
Hi all,
Does anytone know of a way to add RSS feeds as a content item within a
course?
I was sure at the recent Durham Conference, there was a screen shot in
one
of the presentations, which had RSS as an option in the drop down menu
on
the content item addition screen. I assumed it must be a Building Block,
but
I haven't been able to trace anything.
