This course provides excellent vocational training as well as preparation
for a research degree. It involves taught courses, practical classes for
statistical computing and a substantial applied project. Applicants would
normally have a first class degree (or equivalent) in mathematics or
mathematics/statistics. Those with different backgrounds are considered on
an individual basis.
There are 10 EPSRC awards allocated to this M.Phil course for 2007-8, open
to UK and EU students, which cover University and College fees, and, if
applicable, they also cover maintenance. The amount of maintenance is
expected to be a total of £10500 over the 10 months of the M.Phil course.
UK students are normally eligible for fees plus maintenance; EU students
who have spent three years in the UK prior to starting the course are
normally eligible for fees plus maintenance; other EU students are
normally eligible for fees only.
