As one who endeavoured to carry onh Jean's innovation in the Academy I add my second to Nancy's nomination of her. I would have been first in line to second but being a day ahead of North America here in Tasmania, I get the news a day late!
Great choice!

Hi AACORN friends,
I would like to nominate Jean Bartunek for membership in the
AACORN network. Among the many, many other reasons that Jean would is
an important colleague in the current evolution of the arts with
organization, management, and leadership is the courageous role she took
as president of the Academy of Management in recommending the first art
exhibit ever at the Academy of Management, which later evolved into
Academy Arts (and unfortunately, after she was out of office, ultimately
"disappeared" again). She has an article forthcoming in the Journal of
Management Inquiry on the evolution of that idea ("Academy Arts: The
Genesis, Birth, Short Life and Death of an Innovation"). If you would
like a copy, please contact Jean directly: [log in to unmask]
For those of you who are not familiar with Jean's background, she is the
Robert A. and Evelyn J. Ferris chair and professor of organization
studies at Boston College as well as a Fellow (since 1999) and a past
president (2001 - 2002) of the Academy of Management. Her PhD in social
and organizational psychology is from the University of Illinois at
Chicago. Her substantive research interests focus on organizational
change, conflict associated with it, and organizational cognition, and
her methodological interests center around ways that external
researchers can collaborate with insider members of a setting to study
the setting. She is an associate editor of the Journal of Applied
Behavioral Science and on the editorial boards of seven other journals,
including the Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science
Quarterly, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Organization
Studies. She has published more than 90 journal articles and book
chapters and five ([co]authored or co-edited) books.
I think Jean would be a very valuable additional member in our network
All the best, Nancy
