Looking at my Elsevier contract it says:
'If ownership of a Publisher Journal is sold or otherwise transferred to
another publisher, the Publisher will use reasonable efforts to retain a
non-exclusive copy of the volumes published and make them available through
the ScienceDirect online service.'
Does it go something like this?
Elsevier: Can we keep the archives on ScienceDirect now you've bought the
journal?
Nature: No
Elsevier: Fair enough, at least we tried
As with most guarantees and contracts theres always a way round it
depending on the language.
Hope you all manage to get access to what you've lost.
