I have finally traced this problem. Annoyingly, it was in the graphical
interface. When changing destination chains the experiment:chain mapping
in the top table was not being updated.
The assignments were going to the right chain, but the resonances were
being duplicated bacause the experiment mapping pointed to a different
chain and Analysis thought it needed more resonances for this other chain.
A consequence of this bug is that any project that triggered it will
probably have lots of redundant resonances floating about without shifts.
These are readily removed in the Resonance Browser by selecting
ShiftList:None.
All very confusing. Anyhow, the bug is fixed and a patch is posted.
